RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operate hand and power tools/equipment in order to grind welds and finish metal parts
• Grind and sand weld seams, spot welds using power grinders and orbital sanders, to prepare for powder coating process
• Prepares surface of weldments to ensure a smooth paint finish.
• Select and attach abrasive wheels, or disks according to product and sander or grinder specifications
• Report product defects and take appropriate steps to correct
• Work in safe manner following all safety rules and regulations.
• Maintain an acceptable attendance record within the guidelines of the attendance policy.
• Perform other duties as requested.

SKILLS:

• Ability to work with all types of hand tools such as disc grinders, sanders and pneumatic wire wheels.
• Previous experience in metal finishing in a production environment.
• Close attention to quality.
• Must be able to operate a forklift.
• Training available for qualified applicant.
